Gulf of Cádiz

In 2005, I joined the Spanish Institute of Oceanography in Cádiz as an intern. I was by that time exploring areas of research before choosing a PhD topic and thought that biological oceanography (especially related to fisheries) was a good candidate. During the 6-month internship, I gained experience in oceanographic campaigns, and in-land activities for assessment of fishery stocks, but I decided that biological oceanography would not my thing (I had already felt the “seagrass lure”). I felt, however, much satisfied with all the skills and knowledge I acquired, and I even did my first (and last) scientific illustration.
